Hyderabad, Jan.2 (PMI): In a setback to the Andhra Pradesh Government, the Supreme Court today quashed a petition against the division of the High Court and lack of facilities and infrastructure among two States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
AP leaders moved the Apex Court against the bifurcation of the High Court due to lack of adequate facilities. Hearing the petition of the AP advocates, Justice Sikri and Justice Nazeer dismissed the appeal saying the court cannot intervene in the issue. Initial problems are common for the new high courts, the court said. The advocates withdrew their petition later. The comments came at a time when the two high courts are already divided and Chief Justices have taken oath of office. (PMI)
