Sarfaraz Ahmad Takes Charge as Hyderabad Metro Rail MD; Govt Transfers Four IAS Officers

Sarfraz Ahmed, who belongs to the IAS batch of 2009, has been given the new responsibility at a time when the government is planning to embark on the expansion of Hyderabad Metro.

Hyderabad, Sept. 16:(Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMII).In a major administrative reshuffle, the Telangana government has appointed Sarfaraz Ahmad, IAS, as the new Managing Director of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL). He assumed charge on Tuesday, September 16, taking over from NVS Reddy, who had been relieved of the post after a long tenure. Ahmad will also handle additional responsibilities associated with the office.

The government issued G.O. No. 1241, affecting the transfer of four IAS officers to streamline administration.

  • Srijana G, IAS, has been relieved from her position as Director of Women Development and Child Welfare (WCD). She has been replaced by Shruti Ojha, IAS, who will now take charge of the department.

  • Krishna Aditya S, IAS, has been entrusted with full additional charge as Secretary of the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS), relieving K Seetha Lakshmi.

  • Kota Sreevatsa, IAS, has been appointed as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA-General) and given additional charge as Secretary of HMDA. In this reshuffle, R Upender Reddy has been transferred from the post.

The reshuffle marks a significant move by the state government to strengthen the administrative machinery in key urban and social welfare departments.(pressmediaofindia.com)
