Saifabad Police, CCS Arrest Two in Jewellery Theft; Ornaments Worth ₹1.5 Crore Recovered’ DCP C/Z’ K. Shilpavalli, IPS,

Hyderabad, Sept. 12(Najaf Ali Shoukat-PMI) The Saifabad Police, in coordination with the Central Crime Station (CCS), Hyderabad, arrested two offenders in connection with a servant theft case and recovered 173 pieces of gold and diamond jewellery weighing about 850 grams, valued at ₹1.5 crore.

According to DCP Central Zone K. Shilpavalli, IPS, the theft took place on September 5 at Vijay Shankar Lal Jewellers in Basheerbagh. A complaint was lodged on September 7, after which a joint probe was launched. Based on credible information, the accused were apprehended near Nampally Railway Station on September 11, and the stolen property was recovered intact.

The accused were identified as Ronak Chadawa (24), a marketing executive from Mumbai, and Mohd. Hasnain Habiya (22), a student from Mumbai. Police said both were in financial crisis after incurring losses in IPL betting and conspired to steal jewellery. During interrogation, they confessed to the crime and were remanded to judicial custody.

The operation was carried out under the supervision of DCP Central Zone K. Shilpavalli, IPS, and Addl. DCP B. Anand, with teams from Saifabad PS and CCS Hyderabad.

Police have advised jewellery merchants to verify employees’ antecedents before hiring and urged citizens to report suspicious activity through Dial 100.(pressmediaofindia)
