Hyderabad, October 9: A shocking incident of sexual assault on an eight-year-old girl by a young man residing nearby has recently come to light, nearly a fortnight after the event occurred. The matter surfaced after the victim’s family members lodged a complaint with the police.
The family, who live in the I S Sadan Division and earn their livelihood through labor work, have an eight-year-old daughter and a son who study at a local school.
The incident took place about two weeks ago. After returning home from school, the girl’s brother went out to play, leaving her alone in the house. A 24-year-old youth who lives near their residence allegedly took the girl into his house, threatened her, and then sexually assaulted her.
The incident came to light when the girl’s brother witnessed the assault and informed their mother. Subsequently, the family filed a complaint with the Saidabad Police.
The police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Further investigation is currently underway.(pressmediaofindia.com)
