Hyderabad (PMI): Syed Ahsan Hashmi, working as Assistant Director in the Office of the Commissioner, Information & Public Relations Department, Hyderabad, has been promoted as Deputy Director and posted in Medchal Malkajgiri District.
Hashmi put in 35 years of service in the Department and worked hard in various capacities. He worked as Assistant Public Relations Officer, Divisional Public Relations Officer and District Public Relations Officer in Rangareddy, Medak, Mahbubnagar and Hyderabad Districts. He also worked as District Minority Welfare Officer, Rangareddy District, besides working as Secretary, Media Academy of Telangana State.
S A Hashmi is the only officer in the Department, who has the distinction of knowing four languages viz. English, Telugu, Hindi and Urdu. With this rare quality, he was a regular officer to serve many Presidents during their southern sojourns right from Shanker Dayal Sharma to the present President. Working as Assistant Director at the Commissionerate, he was instrumental in aptly handing Media Relations section which deals with the welfare of the Journalists, including issue of Accreditations and Health Cards
