Hyderabad, Oct. 22 (PMI):
The Telangana government is fast-tracking the construction of the new Osmania Hospital, with Chief Minister “A. Revanth Reddy” setting a firm two-year deadline for its completion.
During a high-level review meeting held at his residence on Wednesday, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the new hospital—envisioned as a state-of-the-art medical facility—is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Revanth Reddy reviewed the progress of construction and the procurement of advanced medical equipment for the upcoming super-specialty hospital. He instructed officials to procure modern equipment in line with the requirements of the new facility and to design sufficient space for laboratories, wards, and other supporting infrastructure.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of developing a **comprehensive road network** around the hospital to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to nearby residents.
To speed up the project, Revanth Reddy announced the formation of a **coordination committee** comprising officials from the Medical and Health Department, Police, GHMC, Roads & Buildings (R&B), and Electricity departments. The committee will conduct field inspections and hold review meetings every ten days to resolve issues and maintain progress.
Highlighting the need for safety and efficient traffic management, the Chief Minister instructed senior police officers to devise detailed plans for security and traffic arrangements around the hospital premises. The R&B department has also been tasked with developing connecting roads to improve accessibility.
Revanth Reddy further stated that a senior officer will be appointed for each ongoing hospital and medical college construction project across the state, including Hyderabad. These officers will oversee the works round the clock to ensure timely completion by **June 2026.
Principal Secretaries “V. Seshadri** and “Srinivasa Raju, CM Secretary Manick Raj, “DGP Shivadhar Reddy”, and senior officials Vikas Raj, Christina Chongthu Ilambarthi Musharraf Ali Farooqui “Harichandana”, and others attended the review meeting. (PMI)
