Hyderabad, Nov.2 (PMI): TPCC president Revanth Reddy today alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wasted Rs 1 lakh crore on the Kaleshwaram project. He also said half of the Medigadda project was facing the threat of demolition due to the recent caving-in of its two pillars.
The TPCC said, “If KCR killed the Kaleswaram project worth crores of rupees, the project is now killing KCR. Medigadda is depressed. Lakhs of crores of public money has been poured into the river Godavari,” he commented.
Speaking to media persons after bidding farewell to Rahul Gandhi at the Shamshabad airport after his three-day State visit to Delhi, Revanth Reddy alleged said the Kaleshwaram project and the barrages under its jurisdiction are falling prey to the corruption. He said lakhs of crores of public money has been wasted due to substandard works in the Kaleswaram project.
“The pillars of the Medigadda project have collapsed due to lack of proper precautions. From the 25th pillar to the 1st one, it completely collapsed. The officials say that the pillars have shrunk by two-and-a-half feet. Half of the Medigadda project had to be demolished. The situation of the remaining half of the project will also be known if technical experts look into it,” he added.
He demanded that the L&T company, which built the project, be blacklisted. Criminal cases should be filed against the engineers and CDO concerned, he said. He alleged that KCR was causing I-T raids on Congress party leaders with the help of the Centre. (PMI)
