Hyderabad, Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao today directed the officials to take immediate steps to repair roads and restore power supply due to heavy rains and shift people of low lying areas to safe places as cyclone is likely to hit the state and city. He was holding a review meeting on rain fury last night and took stock of steps taken up during rescue operations and asked to attend to complaints by people from various places. Since rains are likely to occur for two more days the people should be cautious and better remain indoors. Besides cleansing the debris, nalas the officials should coordinate for effective removal of waste material piling up on roads due to rain he said.
KTR said that 140 monsoon emergency teams and 50 static teams are on put high alert to provide timely help to the victims of the rain in the twin cities. A control room at GHMC is regularly monitoring the situation and pressing staff to help the people in need the minister said. Besides CCTVs set up, dial 100, GHMC call center, MyGHMC App are available to complain and get help. The officials informed that Rs 4 lakh will be given to the kin of the deceased at old city and Rs 2 lakh each kin of those died due to wall collapse. A call center is will work for three days 24 hours and complaints can be made on Cell Phone number – 99899 96948 and official teams will personally monitor the rescue and relief operations
