69th Republic day is being celebrated with great fervour across Maharashtra. Governor of Maharashtra Mr C Vidyasagar Rao unfurled the national flag at Shivaji Park at an official function where he greeted people of Maharashtra and paid tribute to the brave martyrs from Maharashtra who made the supreme sacrifice of their lives defending India’s territorial integrity and maintaining law and order.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Culture and Education Minister of Maharashtra Vinod Twade, top officials of the armed forces and police were also present during the flag hoisting ceremony.
In Rajasthan, 69th Republic Day is being celebrated across the state with joy and glee. The state-level function was organized at Lohagarh Stadium in Bharatpur, where Governor Kalyan Singh hoisted the tricolour and inspected the parade. On this occasion, the Governor honoured 24 officials and employees for their outstanding services. Police, RAC, NCC and women battalion performed march past in the celebration and cultural programme by the school children were the centre of attraction.
Republic Day is being celebrated throughout West Bengal. From the early morning, flag hoisting programmes have been taking place in different district headquarters and in prominent places. The main Republic Day Parade took place at Kolkatta’s iconic Red Road where there was a grand display of India’s military’s might and West Bengal’s varied culture and harmony. State Chief Minister, Ms. Mamata Banerjee took the salute from the dais and school children of different areas displayed colourful dances and song programmes.
Gujarat is celebrating 69th Republic Day today with traditional fervour and patriotism. State level function was held at Mehsana in North Gujarat. Governor of Gujarat O.P. Kohli had unfurled the tricolour in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani. Governor Mr. Kohli had inspected the Parade and March past on this occasion. AIR correspondent reports that series of educational and development projects have been launched in Mehsana district during the last two days.
In Uttar Pradesh, Governor Ram Naik took the salute of Parade in main function held at Lucknow in which Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present.
