Removal of footpath encroachments

Mansurabad, March 1 (PMI): GHMC officials have cracked down on footpath encroachments on the main road near the first gate of Sahara States Colony in Mansurabad division. The Zonal Commissioner responded to a complaint that illegal structures encroaching on roads and footpaths on the main road from the first gate to the second gate of Sahara are causing frequent traffic problems and accidents in the area.

On the orders of the Zonal Commissioner, GHMC Town Planning officials, who went into action on Saturday morning, removed about 30 encroachments on both sides of the road from the first gate to the second gate of Sahara with two JCBs. Town planning officials warned that strict action will be taken if roads and footpaths are encroached upon at will. They warned that fines will be imposed on anyone who sets up bins or builds any kind of structure in the area where the footpath encroachments have been removed.

‘Don’t let our lives be wasted’

Addagutta, March 1: ‘We make a living selling fruits on the road… It is not right to take away our businesses and make a living on the road,’ Lalaguda small traders are expressing their grievances. Having not been able to operate their businesses for three months, Lalaguda small traders organized a press conference on Saturday and expressed their grievances. They expressed their grievances that about 100 families have been operating fruit businesses for 20 years and are making a living, and the traffic police are removing the carts without operating their businesses.

They said that families are living in a desperate situation due to the lack of businesses for four months. They informed that the railway authorities have no objection to their running businesses, and that the traffic police are putting intense pressure on them to remove the businesses.
