Hyderabad, December 8 (Shoukat-PMI NEWS): A real estate trader was brutally murdered while returning home after dropping his daughter at school. The shocking incident took place on Monday in the Jawaharnagar Police limits, creating panic in the area.
According to Malkajgiri DCP Sridhar, 46-year-old Venkat Ratnam, a resident of Saketh Colony, Jawaharnagar, lived with his wife and two daughters and ran a real estate business. On Monday morning, after dropping his daughter at school, Ratnam was riding his two-wheeler home when five unidentified assailants in an auto confronted him on the main road. One individual was already standing in their path. The attackers hurled stones and stabbed Ratnam. When he tried to escape, they jumped from the auto and mercilessly attacked him, ultimately shooting him dead.
After the murder, the assailants fled in the auto and Ratnam’s vehicle. Locals alerted the police, who rushed to the scene, deploying clue teams and a dog squad. Ratnam’s body was taken to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem. Doctors recovered bullets from the body, and police are investigating the firearm used.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that the murder may have been motivated by long-standing rivalries and revenge. Ratnam had past associations with rowdy gangs in Dhoolpet and Mangalhat, including arrests in cases related to murder and drug smuggling over the past decade. It is suspected that these old conflicts led to the present attack, although exact motives are still being confirmed.
Background of Revenge Motive
Police believe the murder may be linked to a 30-year-old grudge. Sukhdev Singh, a notorious local gang leader from Dhoolpet, had past conflicts with another gang led by Anil. Venkat Ratnam, who had previously worked as a driver for Sukhdev Singh, became a target when Sukhdev Singh’s minor son developed resentment towards him over gang-related disputes. Over time, the assailant allegedly planned and executed the murder along with six accomplices, tracking Ratnam to his residence in Jawaharnagar before killing him.
The Shahinayit Gunj Police caught the suspects and handed them over to the Jawaharnagar Police. Special teams are investigating further to apprehend any remaining accomplices. (pressmediaofindia.com)
