Hyderabad, Oct.17 (Shoukat-PMI): The Rachakonda Police Commissionerate and Rachakonda Security Council (RKSC) organized an awareness session on Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) and Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) functioning here on Friday.
The session was held aimed at promoting safe and inclusive workplaces, enhance understanding of POSH guidelines, and discussing compliance best practices.
In his address, Commissioner G Sudheer Babu, Chairman RKSC, Rachakonda Commissioner, emphasized the importance of preventing discrimination against women, empowering aggrieved women to take the lead, and taking courageous steps towards creating a safe work environment. He assured that the police would provide support for genuine cases and true victims.
DCP, Women Safety Wing, highlighted the initiatives of the Women Safety Wing, including the SHE Teams, which are dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of women. She also discussed how cases of varying gravity would be handled, emphasizing the importance of evidence-based investigation.
- Padmavati from Sakhi One Stop Center, Medchal, delivered a detailed presentation on POSH guidelines and procedures, ICC functioning and roles, and Local Complaint Committee (LCC) procedures. The session concluded with an interactive discussion, attended by representatives from various organizations, including manufacturing companies, IT companies, BITS Pilani, Infosys, TCS, AIIMS, and more. The event fostered a collaborative effort towards creating a safe, respectful, and equitable work environment.
