Hyderabad, 26’Feb (PMI): The sleuths of Cyber Crime Police Station, Rachakonda have arrested the Cyber stalker: ManikyamArun Prasad S/o Manikyam, aged about 25 years, occ: Completed B.E. Mechanical Engineering from Oxford college of Engineering Tiruvannamalai, caste: Christian R/o H. No. 53, Indira Nagar, Kizhpennathur, Tiruvannamalai district, Tamilnadu stateo 25-02-2020. Based on the petition of the victim from Malkajgiri regarding sexually harrassing in electronic form and sending sexually explicit content, sexual videos and thereby asking sexual favours. On the petition of the victim, a case in Cr.No.85/2020 u/s 354(D), 506 IPC & sec. 67, 67 (A) of IT ACT has been registered. As per the technical evidence collected, apprehended the accused near Secunderabad Railway Station by keeping watch on the movements of the accused. He admitted that in the month of August, he purchased multiple fake pre-activated SIM Cards from a local store in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Naidu. After purchasing those SIM Cards, he got acquainted with few people and got himself added to a Whatsapp Group under the disguise of “Jewellery & Sarees” vender, started collecting the phone numbers of the Women. Later while randomly going through the group, he found the number of the victim, which had a display picture of her, and with dirty intentions in his mind, he started sending vulgar and sexually explicit content everyday to the victim, thereby asking her for sexual favours which caused severe mental agony to the victim. . Caution: The General public especially girls/women are advised to avoid displaying their personal images on whatsapp or any other social media platforms. The case is being investigated by Sri. N.Ramu, Inspector of Police, Cyber Crime, Rachakonda with the assistance of M. VikramReddy,SI of Police, under the instructions of Sri.M.Shankar Asst. Commissioner of Police and under the supervision of Sri P.Yadgiri,DCP (Crimes), Rachakonda. Sri.Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS. Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda who appreciated the efforts made by the Cyber Crime in detecting the case.
