Public grievances should be addressed on priority: GHMC commissioner Ilambarthi

Hyderabad, Dec.30 (PMI): GHMC Commissioner Ilambarthi has instructed the officials concerned to give priority to the complaints  received from the public and take special initiative to resolve the issues expeditiously. As part of the Prajavani programme held at the GHMC head office on Monday, the Commissioner along with Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha Sobhan Reddy received the petitions from the people who have come from various parts of greater Hyderabad seeking a solution to various issues.

       

  Speaking on the occasion, the Commissioner said directed  the town planning officials to inspect the complaints received by the town planning department in Prajavani within their field limits and issue notices on illegal constructions. The town planning department has been asked to submit a report on the action taken so far on the complaints received by the commissioner . He directed the CCP to appoint a special additional CCP and take steps to ensure that the issues were  resolved under his supervision. The commissioner said that he would review the town planning complaints on a weekly basis and directed the CCP not to hesitate to take disciplinary action against the officials who were negligent in resolving the issue at the ground level.

            Deputy Mayor Mote Srilatha Sobhan Reddy instructed the officials to examine the complaints received in the public domain from time to time and resolve the issues at the earliest. She said that The authorities should pay special attention to solving the problems of the people.

            Three requests have been received through prajavani phone-in programme and have been sent to the respective departments for speedy disposal.

            Of the 48 requests received at the Prajavani programme, the town planning department received 29 complaints, the tax department 9, the CE maintenance department 3, the finance, health and land acquisition two complaints each, and the housing and veterinary departments one each.

            A total of 82 applications were received in the six zones under the GHMC limits. Of these, 35 were received in Kukatpally zone, 18 in Secunderabad zone, nine in Serilingampally zone, eight in Charminar zone, 11 in LB Nagar zone and one in Khairatabad zone.
