Presidential polls: TRS extends support to Yashwant Sinha

Hyderabad, June 27 (PMI): The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS)  working president and IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Monday announced that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao would support the joint opposition’s candidate Yashwant Sinha in the upcoming Presidential Polls.

KTR along with other leaders left for New Delhi to represent the party in supporting the candidature of Yashwant Sinha when he filed nomination in the Presidential election on behalf of the combined Opposition in New Delhi.

Speaking to the media in New Delhi after taking part in the nomination programme of Yashwant Sinha, TRS working president KT Rama Rao alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ruling like a monorch and was misusing the democratic spirit of Constitution.

During the last eight years, the union government led by Narendra Modi toppled the democratically elected governments in eight states and formed the BJP governments despite not having the required strength of elected members.

Narendra Modi has ruined the democratic spirit of Constitution written by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and is making a mockery of the people’s mandate in elections. He is implementing his own Constitution by misusing the enforcement agencies against opposition parties. Definitely, the day will come revolting against the Modi government. It may be started from Telangana in the days to come,” KTR said.

Referring to the characters in the epic Mahabharath, the TRS leader said the BJP-led NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu may be a good person by the character but she stood beside by Kauravas (BJP). All have known about the character of Bheeshma, who was named a well respected person but was faced humiliation and killed during the Kurukshetra for supporting the Kauravas.

KTR also informed that he had requested Yashwant Sinha to visit Hyderabad as part of his Presidential election campaign. (PMI)
