Hyderabad, March 15 (PMI): Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed the officials to prepare plans for the development of eco-tourism in the Telangana State.
He advised that both Forest and the Tourism departments should work together and prepare an action plan for the development of tourism projects in Telangana.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting with the officials of Forest department at the Secretariat here on Friday and discussed various issues for the development of Tourism in Telangana.
Stating that diverse areas should be identified to attract tourists, the Chief Minister said that both Forest and Tourism departments should jointly prepare proposals.
“The beauty of forests, wild animals, migratory foreign birds, areas with diverse bio-diversity, heritage sites and areas reflecting culture should be identified and developed. The proposals should be made to achieve international recognition for the natural beauty associated with forests and tourist areas in Telangana and necessary efforts should be made in this regard,” Revanth Reddy suggested.
The Chief Minister also advised that If there is any requirement, special consultancies should be appointed and proposals should be prepared for the development of tourism.
The officials were advised to look into the possibilities of developing Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary in North Telangana and Amrabad Tiger Reserve in South Telangana as tourist areas.
“At the same time, a special tourism policy should be made so as not to harm the wild animals,” the Chief Minister said.
“The industries that follow pollution norms and standards should be encouraged. Every year, in recognition of an occasion like Environment Day, certificates of appreciation should be given to the organisations which follow zero pollution,” he added.
Minister for Forests and Environment Konda Surekha and other senior officials were present in the meeting. (PMI)
