AIMIM Delegation Inspects Preparations at Moula Ali Shrine’ Led by  MLC Affandi

Hyderabad Dec 28 (PMI) Preparations are underway for the annu”al Koh-e-Moula Ali procession to be held on January 3 on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Hazrat Ali. A delegation of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) visited the Moula Ali shrine at Malkajgiri on Sunday to review the arrangements.

Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Riyaz ul Hassan Effendi said the AIMIM has submitted representations to the government seeking necessary facilities for the smooth conduct of the procession. He stated that adequate lighting and security arrangements are being ensured at the shrine, which is expected to witness a footfall of around one lakh devotees on the day.

Devotees from across Telangana are likely to visit the shrine to offer prayers on Youm-e-Wiladat Hazrat Ali, observed on the 13th day of Rajab in the Islamic calendar. The day commemorates the birth of Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib, the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad, who is deeply revered, particularly by Shia Muslims.

The MLC said nearly 80 per cent of the ramp construction from the main road to the shrine has been completed, adding that the remaining work is expected to be finished by the end of next year.

Both Shia and Sunni communities will take out processions from the Old City to the Moula Ali shrine. In addition to the main procession, sehra and sandal processions will be organized from Panjeshah, Bargah-e-Hazrat Abbas at Dewan Deodhi, Badshahi Ashurkhana, and other Ashurkhanas in Kutbiguda Qayam Nagar (Rajinder Nagar) and Bibi Ka Alawa.
