Polling closed an hour earlier

The Election Commission has decided to end the polling in 13 Naxal-affected constituencies of the state an hour earlier. Polling will be held in the respective constituencies on November 30 from 7 am to 4 pm.

  • Hyderabad, October 30 (PMI): The Election Commission has decided to end polling an hour early in 13 Naxal-affected constituencies of the state. Polling will be held in the respective constituencies on November 30 from 7 am to 4 pm. These constituencies include Sirpur Kagaznagar, Chennur, Bellampally, Manchiryala, Asifabad, Manthani, Bhupalapalli, Mulugu, Pinapaka, Illendu, Kothagudem, Ashwaraopeta and Bhadrachalam constituencies. In the wake of the election, Central Election Commission Senior Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Vyas and Director (Expenditure) Pankaj Srivastava held a video conference with Telangana CEO Vikas Raj, district election officials and police bosses on Monday. It has been stated that the Election Commission will issue an official order on November 3 regarding the shortening of polling time. It is learned that the Election Commission has taken this decision on the suggestion of the police to end the polling early so that the election personnel and EVMs can be moved from the polling booths to the reception center before dawn.
  • Release common man’s cash

    The Central Election Commission has ordered the state officials to give the cash of common people caught in the checks without any connection with politics and elections. It directed the administration to release the amount as soon as possible after the approval of the District Grievance Committees. On this occasion, Central Election Commission Senior Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Vyas said that no mistakes should be made in the process of nominations starting from November 3. Additional CEO Lokesh Kumar and Deputy CEO Satyavani told the central officials about the election arrangements going on in the state. State Election Expenditure Monitoring Nodal Officer Mahesh Bhagwat and Police Nodal Officer Sanjay Kumar Jain explained the measures taken under their purview.

    18 thousand wheelchairs

    The Election Commission has decided to install 18,000 wheelchairs in polling centers across the state for the disabled and elderly. The process of procuring these is ongoing. Election officials said that by the time the election schedule was released, 10.60 lakh applications had been received and all of them had been resolved, and another 10,000 applications were to be examined and would be resolved in two days. It has been clarified that the applications for deletion of votes received after October 9 will be considered only after the elections.(Press media of india)
