PM Modi Targets Tejashwi, Says RJD Chief’s Son Hiding Lalu’s ‘Sins’

Saharsa/Katihar,(Special Report-PMI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday intensified his attack on the opposition INDIA bloc, accusing RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav of attempting to “hide the sins” of his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, by pushing his image to the margins of party posters.

Speaking at election rallies in Bihar’s Saharsa and Katihar districts, Modi alleged that the “dynastic families” of the RJD and Congress were more interested in celebrating “foreign festivals” and travelling abroad than respecting Indian traditions. He pointed out that these leaders had mocked Chhath Puja as “drama” and had not visited the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The remarks came amid viral videos of Lalu Prasad celebrating Halloween with his grandchildren. Modi quipped that Tejashwi was “playing hide and seek” with the people — using his father’s name but keeping his photo away from campaign material.

Without naming anyone directly, Modi said, “What are the sins of the so-called tall leader, known for jungle raj, that his son is trying to hide?”

Tejashwi Yadav hit back, accusing the Prime Minister of resorting to “cheap talk” instead of addressing Bihar’s real issues. “Let him tell the 14 crore people of Bihar what he has done for them,” Yadav said, adding that Lalu Prasad’s tenure as railway minister remained “a model of success.”

RJD MP Misa Bharti also dismissed Modi’s remarks, saying, “Does the PM come to Bihar only to count RJD posters? He should talk about development and jobs.”

Modi further claimed that the Congress had agreed to project Tejashwi as the opposition’s chief ministerial face only after the RJD “put a katta (country-made gun)” to its head. The comment drew criticism from both Yadav and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge.

Kharge questioned how Modi could know the alliance’s internal discussions and also pointed out Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s absence from the PM’s rallies. “It’s clear the BJP won’t give him another chance,” he said.

JD(U) spokesperson Rajiv Ranjan Prasad dismissed the charge, saying Nitish Kumar was campaigning across all 243 constituencies. He, in turn, asked why Tejashwi was missing from Rahul Gandhi’s events in Begusarai.

Addressing voters in the Muslim-dominated Seemanchal region, Modi also accused the RJD and Congress of “supporting infiltrators” and warned that their policies could “disturb the demographic balance” of the area.

He said the opposition’s stance on issues like the triple talaq bill and the Waqf Act showed its “appeasement politics” for the sake of votes. (pressmediaofindia.com)
