New Delhi ’28 May ‘2023:On the 140th birth anniversary of Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, floral tributes were paid to VD Savarkar’s portrait in the Central Hall of the old Parliament building. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, various Union ministers, and Members of Parliament were present. Maharashtra Government organised an event at Maharashtra Sadan in Delhi on the occasion of Savarkar Jayanti, where Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis paid tributes to Veer Savarkar.
In Maharashtra, various events have been organized across the state on Sunday. ‘Savarkar Vichar Jagran Week’ has been organized by Maharashtra State Tourism Department at various places across the state under ‘Veerbhumi Parikrama’. A National Memorial Walk and Light Festival has also been organized from Savarkar Sadan to Swatantryaveer Savarkar Memorial at Dadar.
