Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed happiness over Ahmedabad city getting the world heritage status by UNESCO. In a tweet, Mr Modi said, it is a matter of immense joy for India.
Ahmedabad was declared as a World Heritage City at the 41st session of UNESCO’s world heritage committee held at Krakow in Poland. The nomination of Ahmedabad was supported by close to 20 countries, including Turkey, Lebanon, Tunisia, Portugal, Peru and Kazakhstan.
