PK demands special status to AP, supports KCR plan

Hyderabad,  In a significant development, Jana Sena Party Chief, Pawan Kalyan today urged the Centre to clarify whether it will deliver special status to Andhra Pradesh State after bifurcation. Pawan Kalyan demanded that the Centre accord special status to the AP without playing delaying tactics and counting numbers. He also offered support to Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for bringing in a qualitative change in national politics by forming a third alternative force against the BJP and the Congress.

Addressing the media from his party office here this afternoon after interacting with the party leaders and activists, the actor-turned-politician has demanded that the NDA Government at the Centre, led by BJP should, come out clearly whether it will offer special status as it was earlier promised. The people of divided State are seeking special status for achieving better development and the State should honour that, Pawan Kalyan said.

Pawan Kalyan said the NDA Government should stop jugglery of numbers as the people are not ready to believe in them. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi should tell us clearly whether they will deliver special status or not for the divided State. KCR also supported the special status to his State as it needs to develop rapidly”, he said.

The Telangana CM, who responded after the results of the three States, is same as what he was saying of special status to the Andhra Pradesh, he said. He further said Jana Sena’s Fact Finding Committee and the TRS dispensation are in favour of the special status. “Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statement in this regard gave me moral support for the special status and do justice to the people”, he said.

The two Telugu States should cooperate for development and welfare of people, the Jana Sena chief said. “Since Telangana leadership was in favour of Railway zone for Visakhapatnam, we will support for a steel plant in Bayyaram near Khammam”,  he said. Pawan Kalyan extended thanks to the Chief Minister for supporting special status to AP state.
