Hyderabad, GHMC Commissioner Dr B. Janardhan Reddy today directed all the concerned individuals and agencies manning parking areas in the commercial establishments, Malls, multiplexes and so on to strictly implement the State government order from April 1.
In the wake of the High Court directions for Regulation of Parking fee in commercial establishments, the State government, in public interest, issued GOMS No 63, dated March 20 regulating the parking fee collected in the commercial establishments, Malls and multiplexes to prevent misuse of parking facility by charging exorbitant parking fee.
The Commissioner interacted with the owners of the business establishments and directed them to strictly follow the rules, otherwise penal action will be initiated against those flouting the government order. After hearing the suggestions of those manning parking places, the Commissioner assured them to take all steps as per the rules.
Up to first 30 minutes, no parking fee will be collected from any person. Above 30 minutes and up to one hour, parking fee will not be collected if the person produces bill to show proof of having done shopping in the respective mall / multiplex. Others who do not show purchase bills from the mall, parking fee will be collected.
Persons, who parked their vehicles for more than an hour will have to pay the parking fee. Those not having any purchase bills / movie ticket, prescribed parking fee for the said duration will be collected.
Harichandana, Zonal Commissioner (West Zone), Mushraff Ali, Additional Commissioner (IT), Srinivas Reddy, ZC (South), Devender Reddy, CCP, J. Shankaraiah, ZC (North) and various representatives and owners of the commercial, business establishments attended the meeting held at the GHMC Head Office today.
