ON FIRING INCIDENT AT NAMPALLY RAILWAY STATION

Hyderabad’12 July 24 (PMI) Hyderabad city Police is conducting decoy operations and disarming drills at crime prone areas (Hot Spots) to control the property and bodily offences during night time. In this regard on the intervening night of 11/12.07.2024 at about 00.10 hours, Central Zone decoy team consisting of one ARPC and one Civil PC conducting their operation at Nampally Railway Station, while so they noticed two persons in suspicious circumstances near Nampally Railway Station beside Ghouse e-Pak Chilla. On search one person was found hiding the axe at his waist under his Shirt Dcpcentral zone said When decoy team questioned them as to why they were carrying axe. The person carrying axe immediately took out the axe to attack said PCs while the other person started pelting stones on them. The decoy team warned the two persons to surrender before police by dropping weapon. However, they did not pay heed to police advice and continued to come menacingly. In self defense from close proximity ARPC opened fire on the person brandishing axe, injuring him on right thigh. The other person ran away from the scene. The injured was immediately shifted to OGH for treatment. The injured person has been identified as Raju S/o. Dhanraj, Age 19 years, Occ: Band, R/o. AfzalSagar, Mangari Basthi, Near Shadi-Khana, Mallepally, Hyderabad (Injured). Later, the local police team apprehended the other absconding accused on information who is identified as 2) Mohd Khaja @ Ayaan, S/o. Md. Siddiqui, age 19 years, Occ: band, R/o Near Amin Bhai Ki Mandi, Habeebnagar Nala, Hyderabad.

They also confessed of having committed pick pocketing of money and Mobile phones from the sleeping persons. Just before this incident also, they have committed theft of Rs. 400/- from a person sleeping on footpath near Exhibition Grounds, Nampally, and also confessed other similar offences.

A case has been registered under appropriate sections of Law and they will be produced before the Hon’ble Court.(PMI)
