First in the country to be set up inside a metro station
Hyderabad, Sept. 1(Ali Abbas-PMI) In a major relief to residents of Hyderabad’s Old City, a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) will start functioning from September 16 at MGBS Metro Station, AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi announced on Monday. A Union Minister is scheduled to inaugurate the facility.
Owaisi thanked the Ministry of External Affairs for fulfilling the long-pending demand, noting that the new PSK will be the first in the country to be set up inside a metro station. The location, he said, will particularly benefit people in South Hyderabad, offering them easier access to passport services.
The demand for a PSK in the Old City had been raised repeatedly, as residents earlier had to travel to centres in other parts of Hyderabad. The late External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had earlier assured Owaisi that the request would be considered for the densely populated region.(pressmediaofindia.com)
