From MGBS to Chandrayangutta, land acquisition for the 7.5 km Metro stretch is essential. This is part of Phase II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) project.
Hyderabad’Sept 8 (Shoukat-PMI) As part of the ongoing Old City Metro Rail Project in Hyderabad, more than 550 demolitions have been completed, with 886 properties affected instead of the initially estimated 1,100.
According to N.V.S. Reddy, Managing Director of Hyderabad Airport Metro Limited (HAML), compensation of ₹433 crore has been paid to property owners so far.
“Work on Metro pillars and stations is progressing rapidly. Our main focus is on accurate mapping, identifying and relocating underground utilities, soil testing and geotechnical analysis, and conducting various GPS surveys to safeguard sensitive heritage structures along the route,” he said on Sunday, September 7.
Reddy further stated that the Old City Metro corridor has been mapped using high-precision GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) receivers for accurate positioning, which is vital for survey and mapping works.
“We are identifying and diverting underground obstructions at pillar locations. As per the master plan, the road is being widened up to 100 feet,” he added.(pressmediaofindia.com)
