With sighting of the moon of Muharram 1441 (Hijri), the Shia community all over the world start their new year with the Mourning for Imam Hussaina.s Grand Son of Prophet MohammedS.A.W.S and the Martyrs of Karbala. The city of Hyderabad holds a unique status of “Shahr-e- Wilayae Ali wo Aza e Hussaina.s”. Hyderabad Deccan is famous for its Azadari and various Tabarrukats it holds on its soil.
We have been observing from about 50 years that various organizations, Associations, Anjumans and Grouhaan make representation to various departments of the State Government and the Wakf Board to take up different works and arrangements to facilitate the smooth conduction of Azadari during the mourning days of Muharram.
This year the community members specially the youth are of the view that Olama, Khutaba and Zakereen City which is unfortunately missing in our City. It has been observed all over the world that Olama and Zakereen take active part in the Central Processions and attend Majalis-e-Aza which are not being recited by them.
The youth is of the view that active participation and presence of Olama and Zakereen in the Majalis which are not recited by them will play a vital role in the enhancing the discipline by presenting themselves as role models to edify the youth regarding the ethics, etiquettes and practices to be observed during Majalis. Moreover their presence will give a moral support to the Alim or Zakir who is reciting the Majlis. It’s nothing wrong if an Alim listen to a Majlis that is being recited by a Zakir. This has been demonstrated to us by our Imam’sa.s who used to sit down among the mourners and ask the poet or a narrator to recite the Majlis.
The Shia Society also welcomed the initiative taken up the by president of Majma-e-Olama wo Khutaba, Moulana Ali Hyder Farishta to setup “SABIL” where Majalis will be organized and various Olama and Khutaba will participate to answer the queries from Azadars and propagate the message of Imam Hussaina.s to all the Non-Muslims who approach them. This year “SABIL” will be setup on 9th and 10th Muharram 1441(H) and from next year onwards it will be from 1st to 10th Muharram, said Moulana Farishta.
This step will transform the “SABIL”, which are now streaming Nouhas in loud voice and have become a resting and sleeping place. Youth are of the opinion that presence of Olama will bring back its lost glory to the “SABILS” as it used to serve as emissaries of the Message of Imam Hussaina.s to the Humanity.
