Hyderabad: June 26 ( PMI ) The Aadhaar card maker Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that children below five years will now be eligible to get a Child Aadhaar card, which will be blue in colour.
According to UIDAI, the new policy envisages giving the card to below 5-year-old children. The UIDAI will be issuing blue colored Aadhaar named Bal Aadhaar). The Blue Aadhaar are will be invalid when the child crosses five years.
Hence, the child has to be taken to a permanent Aadhaar center to get the biometric details registered with this Aadhaar number.
Here is how to apply
- Go to the Aadhaar Enrollment Center with your child and fill the form.
- Take the life certificate of the child and one of the parents at the center.
- The child will be photographed at the center.
- Child Aadhaar card will be linked to any of the Aadhaar cards in the parent.
- For this, submit your registered mobile number.
- After verification and registration, the confirmation message will be sent to the registered mobile number.
- Child Aadhaar will be sent to the parent’s registered address within 60 days.
- No biometric identification like iris scan or fingerprint scan will be taken.
After the child crosses five years, a normal card will be issued for which biometric details are needed. ( PMI )
