Hyderabad, In the ongoing drive against offenders to create safety and security to the public and to safeguard their jewelry in the limits of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate, the Commissioner of Police detained a notorious inter-State house burglar Rasheed Shah Hameed Shah, who committed five theft cases under the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate so far this year. He was earlier involved in four cases in 2012, 2015 in Maharashtra State posing a grave threat to the maintenance of public order.
The Commissioner said Rasheed Shah Hameed Shah, a native of Madhya Pradesh, settled in Maharashtra. He was addicted to bad voices and started committing house burglaries. He came into contact with one Hameed in Maharashtra and both decided to commit thefts to make easy money. As per their plan, he chose Hayathnagar area since Hameed lives in Abdullapurmet.
The Hayathnagar police nabbed him on April 23, 2018 in crime under sections 454, 380 IPC of PS Hayathnagar and remanded to judicial custody. He was lodged in Central Prison, Cherlapally, Medchal District. During interrogation, he confessed to his criminal activities. The police seized 154 gram gold jewelry, 740 gram silver ornaments, cash of Rs 10,000 from his possession.
With a view to preventing him from committing property offences and to preserve Public Order, the Preventive Detention orders are invoked against Rasheed Shah Hameed Shah by the Commissioner Mahesh M. Bhagwat, IPS, on Friday and detained him in Cherlapally Central Prison.
