Nizamabad: Police Constable Pramod Murdered, Accused Sheik Riaz on the Run

 The constable’s funeral was held with special state honors

Nizamabad Oct 18 (PMI)Nizamabad city witnessed a shocking incident last night when professional thief Sheik Riaz, fatally attacked IV Town Police Station constable Pramod. Constable Pramod died on the spot, while Sub-Inspector Vithal sustained injuries.

According to details, the habitual criminal Riaz was arrested by CCS Police on Friday night. While being escorted to the IV Town Police Station under the supervision of Constable Pramod on a motorcycle, Riaz stabbed Pramod in the chest near Vanaik Nagar and managed to escape.

The constable’s body was moved to a government hospital, where Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya IPS conducted an inspection and offered condolences to the bereaved family. The Commissioner assured that the killer would be apprehended soon and brought to justice.

The funeral of Constable Pramod was conducted with special state honors. Police announced a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 for information leading to the arrest of Sheik Riaz. The accused, son of Mohammad Umar, 24, resident of Ahmedpura Colony, is involved in multiple serious crimes, including theft, robbery, and murder, and has been on the run for a long time.

Authorities urged citizens to report any information about the suspect, promising full confidentiality for informants. The incident has sparked anger and concern in the community, with local religious and political leaders demanding strict action against the accused to deter criminal activity.

The Police Commissioner Sai Chaitanya IPS also appealed to the public to immediately take injured or affected persons to hospitals rather than wasting time filming or photographing the scene, noting that such delays could have contributed to Constable Pramod’s death. (pressmediaofindia.com)
