Nigerian deported to his country by Hyderabad police

Hyderabad’Feb 16: A Nigerian who was overstaying in the country was caught and deported to his country by the Hyderabad police.

Ikechukwu Sylvester Mbah (40), a native of Nigeria, came to India in 2012 on a business visa. He was invovled in cloth business in initial days of his stay in India.

In 2019, Navi Mumbai police arrested Sylvester in a passport case and sent him to jail. After release from prison, he was staying with his friend Ulwe of Navi Mumbai, who was into drug trafficking.

In 2015, he came to Hyderabad and was moving around when on suspicion the police caught him and on enquiry found his visa had expired.

“He was taken into custody and after completion of the procedures in coordination with the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Sylvester was deported to his country,” said Y V S Sudheendra, DCP Task Force.
