NIA Conducts Raids in Five States

News Delhi  Nov 13(PMI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has carried out raids at around 10 locations across five Indian states in connection with an alleged terrorist conspiracy linked to Al-Qaeda, which is reportedly connected to illegal Bangladeshi migrants in Gujarat. The information was shared by an agency spokesperson on Thursday.

According to the statement, NIA teams conducted raids on Wednesday at various premises belonging to suspects and their associates in West Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya, Haryana, and Gujarat. The officer further said that several digital devices and documents were seized during the raids, which have been sent for forensic examination.

This case was registered in 2023.

The spokesperson revealed that the key accused in the case are four Bangladeshi nationals identified as Mohammad Sujoib Mian, Munha Khalid Ansari, Azral Islam and Abdul Latif. These individuals had illegally entered India from Bangladesh using forged Indian identity documents.

The statement added that these persons were found to be linked with the banned terrorist organisation Al-Qaeda. They were involved in collecting and transferring funds for Al-Qaeda operatives in Bangladesh, and were also actively engaged in recruiting and radicalising Muslim youth.

The NIA had filed a charge sheet in this case before a special court in Ahmedabad on November 10, 2023.(pressmediaofindia.com)
