New Delhi NCRB ‘Nov’16 (PMI) NCRB | Hyderabad ranks at the bottom in the food quality index. The survey was conducted by the National Crime Records Bureau. In recent times, Bhagyanagaram’s prestige in terms of food is fading. Crime Records Bureau conducted this survey in 19 prominent cities of India regarding adulterated food. Taking the food quality standards as the basis of this survey, Hyderabad stood at the last place. The fact that the hotels and restaurants in the city are not following the minimum quality standards, while standing at the top place in adulterated food, is a matter of concern. About 62 percent of hotels are using expired food items. In fact, Hyderabad has a rich history when it comes to food.
Along with Hyderabad Biryani and Halim, Hyderabad has gained international fame for its Mughlai cuisine. However, in recent times shocking things have come to light in the raids conducted by the authorities. Inspections revealed that rotten materials were being used and substandard materials were being used. However, it is known that food poisoning has happened to many people who ate food in many hotels in the city. In the past two months, 84 percent of food poisoning cases have been recorded in the city. With that, the quality standards of hotels and restaurants are being understood. Meanwhile, GHMC was alerted by the National Crime Records Bureau survey. It is reported that a decision has been taken to continue the raids until changes are made in the hotels and restaurants (PMI)
