Hyderabad, June 26 (PMI): The comments made by Actor Nagababu about MAA (Movie Artists Association) have led to a huge controversy in the city. The current president of the association and actor Naresh has condemned the comments made by Nagababu. Nagababu had said that the image and reputation of the association had been tarnished during the last four years.
Addressing media persons, Naresh reeled out the welfare programs done by them during his term. He faulted the comments of Nagababu and said that they did not raise the issue of local and non-local people. He asked Nagababu on which basis he said that the image of the association had been tarnished. Describing himself as the son of the film industry, he said that his family had stood by the industry whenever it needed it. Referring to the comments of actor and aspirant of the president in the upcoming elections Prakash Raj, he said that Prakash Raj had expressed his desire to contest in the elections and added that he told Prakash that any member of the association could contest in the elections.
He revealed that another aspirant of the post Manchu Vishnu also approached him. He made it clear that he was extremely hurt by the press meet of Prakash Raj. He made it clear that none could destroy the association and added that the association has 914 members. Naresh said that they had provided medical insurance to all the members and increased the pension of the members from Rs.1000 to Rs. 6000. He also said that they had implemented programs like Kalyana Laxmi and pensions for the welfare of the members of the association. He said that he was ready to resign from his post if the disciplinary committee of the associated asked him to do so. ( PMI )
