MOURNING PR0CESSION OF IMAM ON ASHURA AN EXAMPLE OF UNITY IN DIVERSITY IN HYDERABAD AND PARADIGM OF UNIVERSAL BROTHERHOOD ALL OVER THE WORLD

Thousands of mourners participated in the procession, which was guarded by over 1,000 police personnel. The procession passed off peacefully amid tight security cover & traffic arrangements made by the Hyderabad City Police

Hyderabad / Aus – PMI: July 30, 2023: The historical Bibisa ka Alam was taken out in procession from Alawa-e-Bibias, Dabeerpura in the old City on the day of Ashura (10th of Muharram 1445 Hijri corresponding to 29th July 2023) by thousands of mourners (Azadar) preforming Khooni Matam (self-flagellation) and netizens irrespective of Caste, Creed and Religion paid their homage to Imam Hussainas, the grandson Prophet Muhammadsaws S and the procession conceded through the old city before culminating at Ashoor Khana Bait ul Huzan opp Masjid-e-Ilahi Chaderghat.

Several religious programs were organized across India and in the city to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussainas, the grandson of Prophet Muhammadsaws who was killed along with his family members and followers in the battle of Karbala centuries ago. The 184 years old Procession at Dal Lake in Kashmir was taken out after a gap of 34 years. Feeding camps were organized at several places, while many people distributed milk, sherbet, soft drinks and drinking water to the public.

Bibi ka Alam procession was taken out on a caparisoned elephant Madhuri in a procession from Bibi ka Alawa, Dabeerpura around 12:45 pm in the old city. It was preceded by a mounted police party and camels that carried small Alams and relics.

Members of the Shia community marched along with the procession flagellating themselves with sharp weapons to the cries of ‘Ya Husain’ to mourn the martyrdom of Imam Husain, even as women who lined up on the procession route beat their chest as the procession passed through the road.

Grouh-e-Shaida-e-Shabbira.s has been organizing Majlis-e-Aza and performing Matam inside Alawa-e-Bibis.a on 10th Moharram for more than 53 years at the time of Alam-e- Mubarak is taken out. Allama Aijaz Farroq addressed Majalis-e-Pursa and Matam performed by arakeen (members) of Grouhe Sahidae Shabbir.s and other mourners lead by Syed Najaf Ali Shoukat (senior journalist). The historic Bibis.a Ka  Alam was taken out at 12:45pm amidst momentous Seena Zani, Khama Zani and tears rolling out from their eyes of mourners. Grouh-e-Shaidae Abul Fazala.s , First Grouh of Hyderabad Grouhe Hussaini and Anjuman-e-Zaninul Abedeen also offered their homage by performing Khooni Matam.

The procession which started from Alawa-e-Bibis.a and passed through Shaik Faiz ki Kaman, Etebar Chowk, Kotle Alijah, Charminar, Gulzar House, Panjesha, Khadme Rasool, Mandi Mir Alam, Purani Haveli, Darulshafa, Aza khanae Zahra, Kali Khabar and culminated at Ashoor Khana Baitul Huzan opposite Masjid e Elahi Chaderghat at 8:15pm.  Guroh-e-Shaida-e-Shabbiras has been performing Matam at the culmination for past 53 years. The procession covered the distance of around 7 kilometers in about 7 and half  hours. Shabi-e-Zuljanah was also present in the procession of Alam-e-Bibisa from Aza Khan-e-Zehrasa till Chaderghat. All along the route citizens irrespective of Cast Creed and Religion came in droves and paid their homage to the Imam Hussainas and offered dhattis and Nazar.

According to Syed Najaf Ali Shoukat, president, Markazi Anjuman Matami Gurohan, HYD, T.S., about 25 Matami Anjumans and Grouhan offered Khooni Matam pursa along the route. On behalf of the Shia Community, he thanked the various Government departments and specially the police department for their vital role in the elaborate arrangements and peaceful conduction of the procession.

Apart from this, family members of Nizam, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, representatives of various political parties and prominent personalities offered Dhattis along the route of the Bibisa Ka Alam. Sri CV Anand Commissioner of Police Hyderabad offered dhatti at Charminar, Mohammed Mahmood Ali Hon’ble Home Minister offered dhatti at Purani Haveli along with Minority Minister A Kishore, Chairman Waqf Board Masiullah, Mir Inyath Ali Baquri Ex-Chairman Setwin, AIMIM MLC Riyaz ul Hassan Effendi, Corporator Dabeerpura Alamdar Walajahi and Corporator Pathergatti  Sohail Quadri and Zonal commissioner South zone GHMC offered dhatti from old GHMC office near Aza Khan-e-Zehra

Hyderabad City Police under the direct supervision of Commissioner of Police Sri CV Anand(IPS), Addl. Commissioner, Additional CP L&O Sri Sri.Vikram Singh Maan IPS, Sri.P.Vishwa Prasad IPS Jt.CP. Special Branch, Sri G Sudheer Babu  IPS Addl CP, Sri Sai Chetaniya IPS Dcp South zone, Sri Rupesh Dcp South East, Sri Anand Addl Dcp South, Sri Damodhar Reddy Acp Mir chowk, Sri Rudra Bhasker Acp Charminar  did a commendable job and made elaborate security  arrangements and traffic management for the smooth conduction of the Muharram procession in which thousands of people from all walks of life irrespective of their caste, creed and religion participated and paid their homage according to their customs and traditions. Various departments like GHMC, Water Works, Electricity Department, Forest Department, R&D department played their formidable role during the 10 days of Muharram and also along the procession route on the day of Ashoorah.

  Millions of Shia Muslim took to streets across the globe on Tuesday marking the tenth day of Muharram, the day when Imam Hussaina.s the grandson of Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad Mustafas.a.w.s was martyred more than 1384 years ago in Battle of Karbla in Iraq which was imposed by clan of Abu Sufian Yazeed Bin Muavia.

According to Mr SJA Jafari (journalist) hundreds of thousands people commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, as they took part in Ashura marches in  America, Canada, Great Britain, France, Belgium, Palestine, Lebanon, Australia, New Zealand, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Afghanistan, Yemen, Kuwait, Bahrain, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Iran, South Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, Iraq and many other Asian, African, European and Arab countries across the world. In Iraq over 40 million Zaereen were present in Karbala at Imam Hussainas Shrine for Ashura despite the security threats by extremists. (Press media of india)
