Modi utterly failed to unearth black money: Prudviraj

Hyderabad : Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has miserably failed to flush out Rs 15 lakh crore black money within 100 days from foreign countries, Maharashtra former chief minister Prudviraj Chouhan alleged that the Union government utterly failed to unearth black money and eradicate corruption in the country.

Participating in the one-day Congress Mandal, block level representatives’ training camp held at Mallika Convention center at Shamshabad here on Saturday, Chouhan alleged that the Prime Minister “duped” the people by demonetizing Rs 1000 and 500 currency notes. But the result was zero with his move, he said. As an Oppositionparty, the Congress welcomed the demonetization decision along with people but the aim of flushing out big currency notes was not fulfilled.

But the burden increased on people and economy with the demonetization. Eminent economist and nobel laureate Amartya Sen too found fault with the demonetization. Corruption increased by 67 percent after Modi became Prime minister. The real estate business fell down and small traders affected severely with demonetization, he said. GDP fell down up to 2 percent, he said and reminded that Modi had said 18 times that he will bring back the black money. But 35 percent jobs have gone in small and medium industries, he bemoaned.
