MLC Amer Ali Khan urges CM to address omission of Minorities in recent GO

Hyderabad, Oct.17 (PMI)Amer Ali Khan, MLC, has submitted a letter to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy requesting immediate redressal concerning the omission of the term “Minorities” in two recent GOs issued by his government.

Khan highlighted the exclusion of minorities from G.O.Ms. No. 18, issued by the Planning Department on October 10, 2024, which pertains to a comprehensive household survey covering socio-economic, educational, employment, political, and caste data across the State. This order does not mention the minority communities, he bemoaned. Khan also raised concern over G.O.Ms. No. 33, issued by the Transport, Roads & Buildings Department on October 11, 2024, which outlines financial assistance for the construction of houses under the Indiramma Indlu Housing Scheme. The omission of minorities in the order was also noted and flagged in the letter to the Chief Minister. He pointed out that the Congress government has been committed to the welfare of minorities, and requested to intervene and rectify these omissions. He sought inclusion of “minorities” in both G.Os to ensure their rights, as guaranteed by the Constitution of India, are protected and upheld.

“The Congress government has always been inclusive, and has concern for the development of all communities, including minority communities. The inclusion of minorities in these two G.Os is important and will ensure development and welfare of all communities”, he added. (PMI)
