Hyderabad, March 24 (PMI): Aurobindo Pharma Foundation had sponsored Rs 3.5 crore to construct the state-of-the-art Modern Police Station at Bachupally. The police station is well-equipped with modern facilities and will support Cyberabad police, to effectively deal with safety and security concerns. The state-of-the-art police station spans over 21,000 sft area and is composed of 37 rooms.
Aurobindo Pharma Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Aurobindo Pharma Ltd, had sponsored Rs. 3.5 crore to construct the modern police station in Bachupally, Telangana. The police station was inaugurated today by Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Minister for Home, Prisons and Fire Services, in the presence of Ch. Malla Reddy, Minister for Labour, Employment, Woman & Child Welfare. Sunkari Raju, Govt Whip & MLC, Vani Devi, MLC, Shambipur Raju, MLC, K. Naveen Rao, MLC, K.P. Vivekanand, MLA, Qutubullapur constituency; M. Madan Mohan Reddy, Koleti Damodar, Chairman TSPHC, Director, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd & S. Sadananda Reddy, CSR Head, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation and Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Raveendra, IPS, Cyberabad Joint CP Avinash Mohanty, IPS, Balanagar DCP T. Understanding the prerequisites from the Police department, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation has come forward to lend supporting hand and sponsored Rs 3.5 crore for the construction of the modern police station.
Located on the Uragutta hillock in the surroundings of Bachupally Cheruvu, the police station spans over 21,000 sft and is composed of 37 rooms. It is equipped with 10 SI cabins, two jail rooms, two large resting areas for men and women, a security guard room, Station House Officer (SHO) Rooms on two floors with exclusive resting areas and toilets, two writer rooms, a record room, a CC Camera room, and 10 toilets each for men and women, besides a proper kitchen and dining area.
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said he was happy to open two police station buildings in Cyberabad Police Commissionerate limits., Bachupally Police station and Narsingi Police station. He said Telangana was No 1 in the country in policing and that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had provided all the latest facilities and equipment to the police to help in maintaining law and order.
“The police are performing very well on all fronts in the State. All facilities needed to the police department are provided by the State government. A few more police station buildings are under construction and will be inaugurated soon,” he said.
Speaking on the occasion, M. Madan Mohan Reddy, Director, Aurobindo Pharma Ltd said, “As an organization, we are deeply committed to social activities and today’s event marks an important contribution to the welfare of the society. We understand the severity of the issue in this region and are confident that this new police station will provide the necessary assurance and security to the people living in this area”.
Over the years, Aurobindo Pharma Foundation has been extending support to the Police authorities in multiple ways. Some of the key contributions include – Setting up CC cameras in different parts of the city, Providing Road Stoppers, and ensuring public safety through fire tenders in industrial areas besides providing sanitation materials and masks to several police during COVID-19.
Bharosa’s main objective is to support victims of rape and those cases registered under the POCSO Act, he added. (Press media of india)
