Hyderabad, Sept.23 (PMI): HMRL MD NVS Reddy – Government of Telangana State has taken a serious view of the accident that happened at Ameerpet metro station yesterday. Minister for Municipal Administration & Urban Development KT Rama Rao instructed me to get the matter thoroughly investigated by independent engineering experts and take the required remedial measures, said HMRL Managing Director NVS Reddy, today.
Though the accident may be a freak one, he emphasized that it needs to be taken very seriously and all the station structures and facilities shall be minutely checked, so that such unfortunate incidents do not recur. The reputation gained by Hyderabad metro for it’s high quality and safety standards shall be maintained & safety shall be a high priority at all times, he reiterated.
“Further, as advised by the Minister, I instructed L&T to pay adequate compensation to the victim’s family. Accordingly, L&T management held discussions with her family members and amicably settled and signed an agreement to pay a compensation of Rs 20 lakh” to the family of Mounika, who was killed in the accident, the MD said. One member of Mounika’s family will also get a job, as per the agreement reached with the family members.
