Hyderabad, The State Government today urged the Centre to release a gazette notification for expansion of 3000 KM National Highways and release funds immediately for taking up related works in the State.
A delegation comprising Roads & Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao, MP Jithender Reddy, B Vinod Kumar, Borra Narsa Goud, Sitaram Naik and Nagesh met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari in Parliament and sought immediate steps on the development of roads and their expansion in Telangana.
Talking to mediapersons later, Jithender Reddy said they urged Gadkari to avoid delay in taking up works and cooperate with the Telangana Government to provide better connectivity in districts. “The Centre has already promised to develop the roads and we urged the same”, he said. “We have submitted a memorandum on the roads and funds needed to be released.
Jithendar Reddy said Gadkari promised to call tenders on receiving DPRs (detailed project reports) for the road expansion works. “We have urged the Union minister for his nod for taking up roads and connectivity in new districts in Telangana State.
