Hyderabad, Nov 25(PMI News) The Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a Mega Drunk & Drive Counselling Session on Monday at the Traffic Training Institute, Goshamahal, led by Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Sri D. Joel Davis, IPS. The programme aimed to raise awareness among motorists about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Addressing nearly 600 drunk-driving violators and their family members, the Joint Commissioner expressed concern over the growing number of road accidents in the city. Sri D. Joel Davis explained the severe impact of alcohol on the central nervous system, vision, motor control, and decision-making abilities, which directly contributes to fatal road accidents. He also shared real-life stories of families who lost their breadwinners due to drunk-driving incidents, underscoring the financial, psychological, and social consequences of such behavior.
He urged commuters to opt for public transport or ride-sharing services instead of driving after consuming alcohol and called upon the public to respect traffic laws. The Joint Commissioner also announced that the Traffic Police will continue to conduct intensive and continuous Drunk & Drive checks across Hyderabad.
