DCP C/Z Sharat Chandra Pawar IPS said On 27-12-2023 at 1430 hours on credible information the Commissioner’s Task Force, South-East Zone Team along with Secretariat Police apprehended (03) Interstate drug peddlers namely 1) Anup Navnath Sonawane @ Sumith @ Anup(Main Peddler), 2) Kiran Gangadhar Bomnale @ Rahul (Peddler) and 3) Vivek Rajesh Waghmare @ Vicky and seized 102 grams of MDMA ( Amphetamine) from their possession at near MS Maktha under the limits of Secretariat PS.
On enquiry with Anup Sonawale it is learnt that, he is a mechanical engineer at Pune and used to consume MDMA Drug by taking it from different peddlers. Subsequently in the year 2020, due to financial crisis and to earn easy money, he hatched a plan and started supplying of MDMA drug to needy consumers at Pune and other places. He used to purchase at Rs. 2000/- for gram and sell the same at 5 to 6 thousand rupees. Mean while in the year 2022, he was apprehended by HNEW and sent to jail along with other accused. After releasing from jail, he didn’t change his mind and continued the same business. He used to go Nalasopra of Mumbai and purchase the said drug from one Joe @ Jack who is an African nationalist and supply the same to Kiran @ Rahul and Vivek @ Vickey at Pune and to some of the customers at Hyderabad namely Riyaz and Arif.
On enquiry with the Kiran @ Rahul and Vivek @ Vickey and came to know that both are native of Maharastra state and well aquatinted each other. Both are addicted to consume Ganja and other drug such as MDMA. The income earned by them is not sufficient to attend their luxuries. As such in the month of June – 2023, they hatched a plan to sell the MDMA drug and also developed customers at Pune and Hyderabad. They met Anup Sonawale who is already involved and requested to provide some drug. On their request Anup started supplying of MDMA drug to them at the cost of Rs. 3000/- per gram. After collecting from Anup, Kiran and Vickey used to sale the same drug to Riyaz and Arif at Hyderabad for Rs 6000/-.
Accordingly, few days back Kiran @ Rahul and Vivek @ Vickey went to Pune and met with Anup Sonawale and requested to provide 150 grams of MDMA drug as it has high demand in Hyderabad in view of New Year celebrations and also requested to come to Hyderabad along with them. On their request Anup Sonawale agreed to come and also provided 30 grams of MDMA drug to Kiran and 20 grams to Vickey which is taken from Joy @ Jack N/o Nalasopara of Mumbai and charged 1 lakh rupees. The Anup also hold 52 grams of MDMA drug with him. As per their plan, two days back, the above (03) persons started from Pune and reached Hyderabad and stayed at their friend room at MS Maktha, Somajiguda. Today i.e on 27-12-2023, while they are waiting at near MS Maktha to deliver the drug to Riyaz & Arif the police in plain clothes apprehended them and seized 102 grams of MDMA drug besides following material objects used in the commission of offence.
1) 52 Grams of MDMA Drug from Anup Navnath Sonawane @ Sumith @ Anup (Main Peddler) and two mobile phones.
2) 30 Grams of MDMA Drug from Kiran Gangadhar Bomnale @ Rahul(Peddler) and a mobile phone.
3) 20 Grams of MDMA Drug from Vivek Rajesh Waghmare @ Vicky (Peddler) and a mobile. (Total quantity 102 Grams, All worth Rs. 7,10,000/-)
The king pin Joe@ Jack, R/o Nalasopara, Mumbai-East involved in the supplying of MDMA drug is absconding and efforts are continued to nab him.
The accused Anup Navnath Sonawane previously involved in similar cases of Hyderabad & Pune cities and Kiran@ Rahul previously involved in (03) bodily offences of Mukhed PS of Maharashtra state.
The arrests were made under the supervision of Ms. Sreebala D, DCP Task Force, Sri AVR Narasimha Rao, Addl. DCP Task Force, Sri. K. Ravi Kumar, ACP, Gandhi Nagar Divn, Sri. S. Saida Babu, Inspector of Police, South-East Zone Task Force, Smt. D. Debora, Inspector of Police, Secretariat PS, Sri N. Rama Krishna, DI of Secretariat PS and SIs Sri. M. Anantha Chary, P. Sairam, PC Syed Abdullah and team of South-East Zone Task Force, Hyderabad City along with Secretariat Police.(Press media of india)
