MC Begins Model Footpath Project in Filmnagar–Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad’Nov 27 (PMI NEWS)The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has kicked off a Model Footpath Project along the busy pedestrian corridor in Film Nagar, Jubilee Hills, aiming to boost pedestrian safety and upgrade the area’s urban aesthetics.

Work on the project began on Monday, November 24, and is slated for completion within four months. The new footpath will stretch from Ramanaidu Studio at the Road No. 79/82 Junction to the BVB Junction, passing through the CVR Channel in Film Nagar.

Valued at ₹1.68 crore, the initiative involves developing 500 meters of footpath on the right side of the road and 1,000 meters on the left. A standout feature of the project is the adoption of recycled plastic paver blocks, replacing conventional concrete tiles to promote eco-friendly construction and divert plastic waste from landfills.

Additionally, the footpath will be equipped with a 10 kWp solar grid system, creating energy-efficient, smart pathways. The GHMC aims to set a benchmark with this project by ensuring safer walking spaces, smoother mobility, and a more appealing streetscape along one of Jubilee Hills’ most frequented stretches.(pressmediaofindia.com)
