Hyderabad, Aug.13 (PMI): Mayor Bonthu Rammohan today requested the
officials of various departments to gear up arrangements for the ensuing Ganesh idols Immersion program.
Speaking at a meeting of officials of various departments, including Police, TSPCL, HRCL, HMR, Revenue, R&B and so on, the Mayor asked them to make better arrangements than last year by overcoming shortfalls, if any. Immersion of idols should be completed before dawn as was done during the last two to three years. He also suggested to them to conduct preparedness meetings at respective Commissionerate Zones to have better co-ordination among various stakeholders departments for the arrangements and R&B department to put up more efforts as most of the roads under R&B.
GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore said instructions were issued to the sanitation wing to take up all measures to lift garbage, leftover waste as and when formed during idols’ immersion process and after immersion. He also said bleaching powder and fly ash to be done and fogging operations en route and at water bodies. The Electrical S.E. was instructed to ensure all streetlights glowing en route processions and Chief Engineer to look after road repair works. He also asked the HMRL officials to pay special attention where HMR works were going on to get repair of pot holes and patch works and to remove construction materials all along the route from JBS to Secunderabad Station Road route.
The Commissioner also asked the TSPCL to provide Generators at the specific places as suggested by the CP Hyderabad apart from making arrangements as per last year and also ensure that tree branches and low lying wires should not obstruct free movement of idols. HMWS&SB officials informed they were arranging 32 lakh water sachets at various water camps, two lakh more than last year, preventive measures on overflow of drainage and have super sucker machines ready to attend any emergency work. HRDCL officials said they have sufficient stock of Shell Mac material to take up road repair works. Fire Department officials said they are prepared to make all arrangement like in last year.
Zonal Commissioners Dasari Hari Chandana, Musharaff Ali, Mahesh Bhagawath, CP Rachakonda, Vigilance Director Vishwajit Kampati, DCP traffic Cyberabad, Vijay Kumar, DCP Traffic-1 L.S.Chowhan, DCP Traffic-II of Hyderabad City and other senior officials from R&B, HRDCL,TSIC, HMDA, departments attended the meeting.
