MASS DEMONSTRATION OF CPR TECHNIQUE

Hyderabad, Oct.17 (PMI): As part of CPR Awareness Week being observed across India from October 13 to 17, the Press Information Bureau (PIB), Hyderabad, organized a mass demonstration of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on Friday at CGO Towers, Kavadiguda, Hyderabad.

On this occasion, Shruti Patil, Additional Director General, PIB Hyderabad, said the event was part of the nationwide campaign initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to promote practical life-saving skills among citizens.

V.V.V.S. Murthy, Director of St. John Ambulance (India), Telangana State Centre, highlighted that sudden cardiac arrest remains a major cause of preventable mortality. He emphasized the need for widespread awareness and community-level CPR training as a national public health priority.

Experts and doctors from St. John Ambulance (India) conducted live demonstrations, showcasing the correct techniques and timings for administering CPR. The session also included hands-on training for officials and staff on basic CPR methods.

Officials from nearly 20 departments housed in CGO Towers enthusiastically participated in the session, learning essential emergency response skills. The activity forms part of a broader nationwide initiative by the Government of India to empower citizens with life-saving interventions and enhance preparedness in medical emergencies.
