Hyderabad, Maoists resorted to firing in Veerapuram village in Pinapaka mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district and in Sundarayya nagar in Bhadrachalam late Friday night, killing one person and injuring the other. Maoists suspect that these two persons were police informers.
The extremists of Communist Party of India (Maoist) shot dead P. Jogaiah in Veerapuram village, killing him on the spot. They also opened fire on another person, Ramesh at Suryanagar in Bhadrachalam town. Ramesh received bullet injuries on his hand. He was rushed to a Hospital. It is said that both Jogaiah and Ramesh were former Maoists. Police opined that they were attacked as Maoists suspected them to be acting as police informers.
The Maoists also burnt down four Lorries and two JCBs at Bhupatiraopet in the district. They reportedly abducted two workers from one of the trucks, but later released them. Maoists left behind a letter in which they said that their action was in protest against the illegal sand mining in the area. Police suspect that about 40 Maoists divided themselves in to three groups and carried out the attacks.
