Hyderabad, Nov.28 (PMI NEWS): CPI (Maoist) Maharashtra-Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh Special Zonal Committee (MMCSZC) Spokesperson Ananth has declared that the Maoists in the region plan to disarm and reintegrate into society by January 1, 2026.
He referenced a letter dated November 22, which he sent to the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh – Devendra Fadnavis, Vishnu Deo Sai, and Mohan Yadav, respectively – as well as to Chhattisgarh’s Home Minister, Vijay Sharma. In this letter, he requested that the governments grant them until February 15, 2026, to reach an agreement.
In his recent correspondence to the aforementioned leaders, along with audio clips shared with the media, Ananth mentioned that he listened to Vijay Sharma’s radio statement, where the Home Minister suggested that a timeframe of 10 to 15 days would suffice for making a decision. While he acknowledged his respect for Sharma’s comments, Ananth expressed that such a brief period would not be adequate for the discussions.
The Home Minister should not object to the date of January 1, 2026, which has been established for the surrender of arms and reintegration into society. Ananth referred to Vijay Sharma’s suggestion that the government is open to listening and will strive to accommodate any proposals and demands put forth by the Maoists, stating that this engagement would occur either just prior to their rejoining the mainstream or after their rehabilitation.
During a meeting with his fellow comrades, the Naxal leader emphasised that they should not surrender their arms individually, but rather collectively. He explained that the Maoists were temporarily halting their armed struggle to embrace the government’s rehabilitation program, but this should not be viewed as an act of surrender.
Ananth asserted that relinquishing arms does not equate to deceiving or betraying the public. Instead, he explained that the current circumstances do not favor armed struggle, as weapons should be regarded as an end rather than a means. He urged the members to exercise patience and refrain from engaging in any violent actions independently. Additionally, Ananth called on the government to suspend all search operations and arrests.
He shared a radio frequency of 435.715 with all MMC members, allowing them to contact the leadership daily from 11 AM to 11:15 AM for the upcoming month, with this arrangement extending until January 1, 2026. He emphasised the importance of reaching out without delay.
Ananth asked the governments of the three states to announce this information on the radio for the next two days, just before the national news, and to provide audio tapes to the media for ten days to ensure that Maoist members are updated on the situation.
Furthermore, Ananth appealed to the elected representatives and journalists to lend their support until the process is concluded. He requested Sonu Dada and Sathish Dada to communicate MMCSZC’s position to the three state governments and assist in achieving a peaceful resolution to the entire process. (pressmediaofindia, com)
