Hyderabad, April 09, (Shoukat – PMI) A large-scale cordon and search operation was conducted under the limits of Bhavaninagar Police Station in Mirchowk Division. The operation was carried out under the close supervision of senior police officials with the primary objective of maintaining law and order and curbing criminal activities in the area.
The operation was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Charminar Zone). Khare Kiran Prabhakar IPS and Sham Sunder, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Mirchowk Division), while the Inspector of Bhavaninagar Police Station supervised the execution on the ground. The entire area was strategically cordoned off, and house-to-house searches were conducted.
Heavy Police Deployment
More than 195 police personnel participated in the operation, including:
- 2 Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs)
- 6 Inspectors
- 11 Sub-Inspectors (SIs)
- 176 police staff
The teams were divided into 8 search parties, 8 cut-off teams, and 8 lifting teams, along with a designated holding point to manage detainees and seized materials.
Search of 280 Houses
Police conducted thorough searches of around 280 houses, particularly in and around Road No. 11. Residents were verified, and suspicious individuals were identified during the process.
Seizures and Detentions
During the operation, police took action against illegal activities and seized several items:
- 69 two-wheelers without number plates or with improper number plates were seized
- 2 three-wheelers (auto rickshaws) were also confiscated
- 6 rowdy sheeters were apprehended for their involvement in criminal activities
- 11 suspect individuals were detained for further inquiry
Seizure of PDS Rice
In a significant recovery, police seized 10 bags of PDS (Public Distribution System) rice from an individual allegedly involved in illegal storage or diversion of subsidized food supplies.
