Major IPS Reshuffle in Telangana; Key Officers Get New Roles: V.C. Sajjanar IPS, Hyderabad’s new Police Commissioner
Hyderabad, Sept. 27 (Najaf ali Shoukat-PMI): Senior IPS officer V. C. Sajjanar has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, as part of a major reshuffle of IPS officers ordered by the Telangana government. The transfers and new postings were issued through a Government Order dated September 26, 2025. Sajjanar, who has served in various key positions across the state, will now take charge of the city police, succeeding C. V. Anand. Anand has been transferred and posted as Special Chief Secretary to the Government in the Home Department,
The Telangana government has effected a major reshuffle of senior IPS officers, bringing in fresh leadership across vital wings such as Home, Vigilance, ACB, Intelligence, Civil Supplies, and Disaster Response. Several officers were transferred, while some were given additional charges of important posts.
C V Anand (1991 batch) Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad is transferred and posted as Special Chief Secretary to Government.
Ravi Gupta, a 1990-batch officer who was serving as Special Chief Secretary (Home), has now been appointed as Executive Vice Chairman and Director General of Good Governance, Telangana.
Shikha Goel, a 1994-batch officer heading the TG Cyber Security Bureau and FSL, will now serve as Director General, Vigilance & Enforcement, and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary, General Administration. She will also continue to hold additional charge of the Cyber Security Bureau.
Swati Lakra (1995 batch), ADGP (Organization & Home Guards), has been given full additional charge as DG, Special Protection Force.
Mahesh Muralidhar Bhagwat (1995 batch), ADGP (Law & Order), has been entrusted with additional charge as ADGP (Personnel).
Charu Sinha (1996 batch), ADGP, CID, will now hold additional charge as DG, Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Dr. Anil Kumar (1996 batch) has been posted as ADGP (Operations), Greyhounds and Octopus, while Vijay Kumar (1997 batch) has taken charge as ADGP, Intelligence.
In another key move, Y. Nagi Reddy (1997 batch), DG, Disaster Response & Fire Services, has been shifted as Managing Director of Telangana State Road Transport Corporation. His post has been filled by Vikram Singh Mann (1998 batch), who now becomes DG, Disaster Response & Fire Services.
Devendra Singh Chauhan (1997 batch) has been posted as ADGP, Multizone II, while senior officer M. Stephen Raveendra (1990 batch) will serve as Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary, CAF&CS Department.
