Majalis and Matami Processions to Mark Martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Ali (A.S.) in Old City Hyderabad from March 8–11

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (PMI): Majalis and Matami Juloos commemorating the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Ali (A.S.) will be observed across the city from 18th Ramzan to 21st Ramzan (March 8 to March 11, 2026) with religious gatherings and mourning processions at several locations in the Old City.

According to organizers, Majalis will be held throughout the four-day period, while major Matami processions will take place on the 20th and 21st of Ramzan under police supervision in different parts of the charminar zone.

On 19 Ramadan (March 9), two processions will be taken out at 11 pm from Panjesha to Ibadath Khana e Hussani and 11;30 from Mazar e Ibne Khaoon Purani Haveli.

On 20th Ramzan (March 10), a procession will be taken out at 2:30 PM from the historic Charminar to Tehmaskhanpura (Kali Khabar) within the limits of Charminar and Mir Chowk police stations, organized by the Shia Conference. Another procession is scheduled at 8:30 PM from Ashoorkhana-e-Umul Baneen, located behind Mir Chowk Police Station, to Panjesha-e-Vilayat under Mir Chowk limits.

On 21st Ramzan (March 11), several processions will be held beginning at 5:00 AM from Charminar to Badeshahi Ashoorkhana near Madina Circle, organized by the Shia Youth Federation of India. Later, at 3:00 PM, a procession will move from Dewdi Inayath Jung, Mir Alam Mandi to Alaw-e-Sartooq Mubarak at Darulshifa. Another major procession is scheduled at 9:00 PM from Hussaini Koti to Moula-e-Khas Chilla in Yakhutpura under Rain Bazaar police limits.

Meanwhile, a large number of mourners are also expected to visit Moula Ali Pahad on the night of 20th Ramzan to attend special Majalis. Thousands of devotees from various parts of the Old City are likely to proceed to the hill shrine, making it one of the major focal points of observance.

Authorities have been requested to make adequate security, traffic, and civic arrangements to ensure the peaceful conduct of the religious events. (Pressmediaofindia.com)
